Last week, after watching the video, I purchased this bible for a friend’s 7 year old daughter. Today, I was very delighted to hear that her daughter loved the book and has read 6 chapters already! She described it as being like “a comic book from God”. Thank you Dr. Pitre for the insightful recommendation.

You are so right about the images and stories from this particular bible being imprinted on kids’ minds. My kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bible. My husband had this book from childhood and my kids were given his copy and wore it out. I was happy to see that it’s still printed. They’ve nearly worn out their second copy! There are MANY times that my kids surprise me with a story they know, or they fill in details that I didn’t remember and when I asked them where they learned it – they point to this bible!

For couple of years we are reading the Action Bible for our kids for the very same reason. Stunning images and great coverage of the Bible (Old and New Testament), even a brief story of the Maccabees.
As far as I know the Action Bible is the same as the Picture Bible, just more detailed and better graphics. The publisher is the same for sure.
Thanks for the recommendation.
